About the 2025 School Bond
Lincoln County School District aging school facilities face challenges. Our schools have aging and inefficient building systems that no longer work as originally intended. These well-loved buildings are due for many basic repairs and upgrades to continue to serve our students and communities.
We also know that the district’s most popular programs such as Career and Technical Education and Performing Arts are limited by space or older facilities that do not meet the demands of modern learning.
The May 2025 Bond was a renewal of an expiring bond, allowing the district to fund major updates and renovations across the district while maintainig the tax rate.
Bond Progress & Updates
Taft Elementary Music Room Update
We begin the demolition of the existing Taft Elementary Music Room this weekend (October 18th)!
The new music room will be nearly double the size and will allow Taft to serve more students through the music program.
Taft 7-12 Forestry Addition
The 2025 Bond has allowed the district to fund the expansion of the Forestry building at Taft 7-12, adding approximately 1,000 square feet to the program.
Taft 7-12 celebrated the new addition on October 22nd with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
Safety & Security Updates
New digital security camera systems and blue button systems are currently being installed in every LCSD school with estimated completion by January 2027.
The blue button systems will allow our schools to have immediate lockdown capacity and direct communication with local law enforcement in the event of an intruder.
