Why is the bond renewal being referred to voters?

Lincoln County School District aging school facilities face challenges. Our schools have aging and inefficient building systems that no longer work as originally intended. These well-loved buildings are due for many basic repairs and upgrades to continue to serve our students and communities.
We also know that the district’s most popular programs such as Career and Technical Education and Performing Arts are limited by space or older facilities that do not meet the demands of modern learning.
This May 2025 the district is in a unique position to ask voters to approve a renewal bond that would replace an expiring bond. As a renewal, the bond is estimated to maintain the tax rate that property owners are currently paying.
